Branding & Creative, Strategy

Rebranding an iconic Yorkshire landmark.

Leeds Kirkgate Market

Leeds Kirkgate Market is the largest indoor market in Europe, a living example of the rich history of the city. Until we came on board, the identity had fallen under the umbrella brand of ‘Experience Leeds Market’. All that changed when Leeds City Council selected us to complete a full rebrand project.

We wanted to do justice to the unique character of the market, and re-establish it as the beating heart of the city centre. That was the approach we set out to reflect in our branding and creative work.

The identity we created worked in harmony with redevelopment plans, focussing on the unique combination of its status as a historic landmark and its future as a thriving urban eating, drinking and shopping destination. As the market itself underwent much needed change, we rolled out the rebrand, including online and print advertising, print collateral, wall graphics, signage and external hoardings.

The result is a reinvigorated and much loved community asset, with a distinct brand identity that bridges the gap between old and new.
