Cotterills is a business that sells both drainage products and solutions / services. Having grown hugely over the past decade it was looking for a brand identity that was a better fit for both present and future ambitions.
Our job was to create a new visual identity and brand proposition to really showcase Cotterills’ competitive advantage.

Our Approach
We began with a brand workshop, seeking to establish the priorities of key stakeholders and to discuss their personal vision for brand and business.
We used that insight to create a brand DNA, setting out a new proposition, before heading into full creative development.



The Creative
The new brand proposition was designed to emphasise both the accessibility and expertise of Cotterills – principles relevant to the full offering, from drainage products to environmental services.
We built a flexible messaging device that could be used both as a leading, defining message, but also as something that could be adapted for almost any purpose. It provided both adaptability and consistency, establishing brand tone wherever it was used.



Visually, we created an identity that was clean, fresh and distinctly modern, using a green colour palette that was a clear departure from the previous blue.
In combination with bespoke graphic and framing devices for imagery, we were able to create a brand that was a clear modernisation, a bold change, and a robust, futureproof identity.
