ilk gets baked for Macmillan Cancer Support.
As part of our ongoing Goodilk fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support, the hungry ilk team recently fired up the ovens, revved up the stand mixers and cracked out the piping bags for a big ol’ bake.
It was all part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, a Macmillan initiative to get us all sharing a cuppa and a slice, whilst raising much-needed funds for the vital work they do.
Safe to say, us ilksters embraced the event with cookie-munching vigour.
As the morning dawned, the coffee was brewed and the table was laden, it was clear that our baking exploits had come up with the goods. We had cinnamon buns. We had coffee cake. We had sausage rolls. We had cookies, brownies and billionaires shortbread. Enough to make Paul Hollywood wince!
Luckily, a peckish collection of family, friends and neighbours stopped by to give us a hand with the eating, the chatting, and with the fundraising too. And then we all fell asleep at our desks in the afternoon when the inevitable sugar crash hit.
We’d even surpassed our £250 target before the first few slices were scranned, bringing in a total of £455 – all thanks to Goodilk.
