We announced recently that ilk was collecting donations for the refugee charity, PAFRAS, in collaboration with our Leeds Dock neighbours Holdfast book shop…

And we need to say a big TA for all your help!

Donations poured in at both venues, and we’ve been blown away by all the support from our ilksters, and from members of the public popping in.

Text in boxes laid over an image of food saying '132 items donated by ilk', 'including 62 cans', '4.4kg of rice and pasta', '32 items of clothing'

Across the two week donation run, we’ve managed to gather…

At ilk:

  • 62 cans
  • 22 toiletries
  • 3 bags of rice
  • 3 bags of pasta
  • 37 items of clothing

At Holdfast:

  • 2 bags of toiletries
  • 1 big box of snacks
  • 4 boxes of tea bags
  • 3 big bags of tins
  • 1 bag of picture books

Our friends at Holdfast had this to say:

“We were so happy with how generous people were and the thought they put in! People really thought of the things refugees would want in this situation – like comforting soups and tins of stew / tea and biscuits.”

We’ve already taken the much-needed haul to PAFRAS HQ, and the charity would certainly appreciate any further support you can give them.

“We are proud to be supporting such an important cause. The support and generosity of the local community will play a vital role in making a difference for those seeking refuge and a better life in the city. Together, we can extend a warm welcome to those who need it most and show the true spirit of Leeds.”

Nev Ridley, Managing Director at ilk Agency.
